“my story“
“Freedom is cultivated from within”
I believe in the idea of becoming eternal students — adults empowered to design their own future — with a life-long curriculum of living, learning and thriving.
INSIGHTS
ENGLISH “Education is something that people do with themselves and for themselves: they educate themselves. Others can train us, yet only we can educate ourselves.“
KEY
‘Wie wäre es, gebildet zu sein?‘
by Peter Bieri, Swiss philosopher
“Bildung ist etwas, das Menschen mit sich und für sich machen: Man bildet sich. Ausbilden können uns andere, bilden kann sich jeder nur selbst.”
A CHAPTER OF CHANGE
“I left the Western World in pursuit of freedom, curiosity and personal growth — I was drawn to purity, roots, joy, and human connection — a place to call home.“
Singida, Tanzania

Sometimes we need to strip life
back to utmost simplicity to realise
the impact of our systems.
I was looking for freedom, in order to find this we need to liberate ourselves from what is holding us back. Life and business in Zanzibar taught me a lot about basic needs, the human mind, and about how friction between cultures help to fuel opportunities for interpersonal growth.
My greatest insight? Whatever system we choose to surround ourselves with, we need to regain freedom and creativity from within; a lot of it is up to each and every individual. The hardest part? In my experience was to control my mind — to think positively, and to trust that the intentions of others were good despite their failure to deliver. I could talk about the examples forever — today I am stronger than ever, more resilient, patient, and more open minded.
At some point I will also share with you the complexities that made me leave, and how non-attachment “Aparigraha“ has helped me to let go and to look back with great gratitude.
Just like my yoga teacher David Swenson once explained — The Strongest Trees in the Forest Grow the Slowest — there is no rush.
Who am I? I am tirelessly intrigued to explore, inspire, challenge, to level up, and to expand how we live, work, and create — just like most of our clients — I ultimately wish to do better and to make the world a greater place. Don‘t we all?
This aligns with Yogic Principles. We look at what we do as an embodied practice which promotes authenticity and self-study. To really understand the power of this practice we need to look at the world with curiosity and from a place of critical thinking. The more risk we take, the more opportunities will present themselves. What is most important for me today are past insights and how I choose to participate today and tomorrow.
To live and enjoy the the present may not be as simple as it seems — coaching exercises the mind to enable us to enjoy the moment of creation, not just the idea of a destination.
Thought & Action is an expansive destination in alignment with all that excites me — it’s like a dynamic sketch of “home”.
The below stories are me sharing my personal reflections and my way of encouraging you to open up, unlearn and go seek out your own ”truth”. Perhaps it will be through coaching with us at Thought & Action.

Thought and Action
“May I have the courage
today to live the life that I would love,
to postpone my dream no longer.
But do at last what I came
here for, and waste my heart
on fear no more.“
John O‘Donohue
At home? Coaching is a bit like traveling, once we go places we will never be the same again

How others might describe you is never the full story or the true you, quite frankly, they probably don’t have a clue!
As covid-19 was about to hit Europe, my bags were already packed. With a one-way-ticket into the unknown I left the western world to explore the African heat of growth. Thought & Action is a new destination in alignment with everything I enjoy — it is a creative space for me to connect, shift and evolve in community with others; a dynamic sketch of “home”.
ON CLARITY
From fear to flow.
No one can tell us how to live our lives and that’s the most empowering of insights

* Stockholm is a fascinating city, yet what outsiders don’t understand is that the clash between individualism and conformity is a recipe for anxiety, so it’s not for nothing that the BBC has run a feature on the secrets to why “Burnout is rising in the land of work-life balance”.
When I first signed up to coaching I’d just moved back to Stockholm. On paper this relocation might have looked like an interesting career move, to me it felt like a recipe for social misery. I’d left my native land for reasons of curiosity — now I’d found myself back in a city ruled by what in the 80’s was referred to as cultural Marxism!* While driven by a passion for learning and creativity my whole career had evolved around change making, so if this really wasn’t for me, why was I afraid to change it?
ON ACCOUNTABILITY
From passion to purpose.
We don’t have to give up what we love to get what we want

Bold decisions such as leaving a career, relationship or a country can be daunting. Even if these may be choices of our own it still takes courage to walk into the unknown.
I always thought that I had to “know“ what I was looking for; but what I needed was to recognise where my qualities and passion were truly purposeful.
Yoga has taught me how to surrender and how to serve (selflessly), how to let go of the past, and how to listen to my heart.
As an experienced yoga teacher, coach and mentor it is my passion to grow the people around me. Community classes provided a teaching space fuelled by inquiry, play, gratitude and a genuine curiosity.
ON MEANING
“Whatever system that we choose to surround ourselves with — we need to carve out a space in alignment with who we are — we need to regain freedom and creativity from our core.“
Thought & Action
Coaching is a bit like the Daoist Yin Yoga where students hold each posture for an extended period of time to “explore their edge” it is a way to cultivate self-awareness, resilience, balance and mindfulness.
The yin and yang represents two opposite forces in the universe; during our most challenging times it can be soothing to consider that without darkness there is no light.
